BROADCASTING/MEDIA TEAM
PLAY-BY-PLAY BROADCASTING
TWO INTERN POSITIONS (FILLED FOR 2024)
Individuals should have a proven interest in sports broadcasting and a complete understanding of the game of baseball is required. Preference will be given to college students who have broadcasting and sports-related majors and have been actively involved in broadcasting and sports programs. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are preferred. Submission of play-by-play broadcasting audio and/or video material is required and will be reviewed during interview and selection process.

Broadcasters are part of the Kettleers Media Team and will be exposed to and required to participate in our multi-media platforms; will work with Media Coordinator in setting team goals.

Broadcast all home and away games throughout regular season, playoffs, and special events.

Prepare for each game by fact-checking updated stats, player transactions, pronunciations of names, and coordinating data with opposing team’s broadcasters.

Lead in the production of audio and/or video interviews and podcasts that will be posted on the website after each game.

Contribute to Kettleers social media on a daily basis, providing color commentary pre, during, and post games on all social media platforms.

Advertise all special events including but not limited to the following: 4th of July parade and activities, including Hitting Contest; Annual Hit, Pitch, Run, Throw competitions on broadcasts.

Contribute occasional feature articles for website and for possible use in team newsletters, yearbooks, and other publications.

Maintain a clean and organized work space at home and away games.

SPORTS WRITING
TWO INTERN POSITIONS, FILLED FOR 2024
Individuals should have a proven interest in sports writing and a complete understanding of the game of baseball is required. Preference will be given to college students who have journalism and sports-related majors and high school students who are actively involved in writing and sports programs. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are preferred. Published sports writing samples will be required during interview and selection process.

Sports Writing interns are part of the Kettleers Media Team and will be exposed to and required to participate in our multi-media platforms, and will be responsible for social media. They will work with the Media Coordinator in setting team goals.

Write game stories for all Kettleers home and away games throughout the regular season & playoff games and special events. Game recaps are to be posted to the Kettleers website and on social media by 8am the following day for home games and 10am for away games.

Also write sidebar stories, feature stories on Kettleers, season recaps for possible use in newsletter, notes, special events, anything Kettleers related and other events.

Work with Video Production Interns to conduct and produce interviews and features to be published on Kettleers website and social media platforms. Writers will be interviewing coaches and players.

Prepare, edit, and label all written material to upload to website. Familiarity with WordPress is helpful.

May need to fill in at other media positions depending on situation to be determined by Media Coordinator.

CAMERA TECHNICIAN
TWO INTERN POSITIONS POSITIONS FILLED FOR 2024
Individuals should have a proven interest in sports video production and a complete understanding of the game of baseball is required. Preference will be given to college students who have video production and media-related majors and have been actively involved in video production and media and sports programs. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are preferred. Submission of sports-related video production material is required and will be reviewed during interview and selection process.

Video Production interns are part of the Kettleers Media Team and will be exposed to and required to participate in our multi-media platforms; will work with Media Coordinator in setting team goals.

Home games: Management of multiple remotely controlled high-definition cameras and manual cameras for internet streaming to YouTube and local television at all home games using Wirecast Studio 6 Pro for Windows software.

Away games: Capture games on video camera, create highlight videos with commentary after each game, and post to YouTube by 9:00am the following day.

Videographer/Reporter to work with booth Video Production and Broadcast Interns to produce game recap after each game to be posted on the Kettleers website, YouTube, and other social media platforms.

Produce short pre-game and post-game shows with interviews of players and coaches. Broadcasters and Writers will be host and do actual interviewing. Upload edited video clips to Kettleers website and YouTube site.

PHOTOGRAPHY
ONE INTERN POSITION POSITION FILLED for 2024
Individuals should have a proven interest in photography and baseball, and a well-rounded understanding of the game of baseball is required. Preference will be given to college students who have photography and sports-related majors and high school students who are actively involved in photography and sports programs. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are preferred. Published sports photography samples will be required during interview and selection process.

Photography interns are part of the Kettleers Media Team and will be exposed to and required to participate in our multi-media platforms; will work with Media Coordinator in setting team goals.

Photograph game action (on-field) and crowd candids (off-field) at all home and away games throughout the regular season, playoffs, and special events, and send photos in real-time to Social Media coordinator for upload to social media.

Canon equipment is available from the organization, or photographer may use his/her own equipment.

Become acquainted with players’ names, coaches’ names, and uniform numbers ASAP.

Ensure that the Kettleers organization has minimally a complete set of five high-resolution, color, archive quality individual action photos of every player (contracted and temporary) who wears a Kettleers uniform.

Photograph coaches, trainers, bullpen catchers, and bat boys in action during the season.

Photograph crowd, kitchen, radar gun challenge, VIP guests, interns, bullpen, opening ceremonies, baseball clinics, advanced baseball clinics, and special events.

Photograph Annual Cotuit Kettleers Welcome Party in June (pre-season). Record skits and names of players/coaches participating in each skit.

Photograph Annual 4th of July Parade and activities, Hitting Contest, Annual Hit, Pitch, Run, Throw competitions in July.

Assist the organization with public relations, special events, and other similar projects/duties as assigned.

Archive all photos for all events in Field Office photo drive. (All photos become the property of CAA. All photo credits on published intern photos will be assigned to intern.)

Select and edit action photos immediately after each game and send to intern writer for web stories.

SOCIAL MEDIA
ONE INTERN POSITION (POSITION FILLED FOR 2024)

Active on Facebook, Twitter, TikTok, and Instagram accounts daily. Each social media account is important due to the varying age groups in our fan base.

Post probable starting pitchers each morning along with game locations and times. Short summaries of previous night’s game can also be posted here.

Post Lineups for the night, with a game reminder as soon as Coach makes them available to you.

Post links to broadcasts with reminders when the broadcast goes live.

Post game recaps/times/links to broadcasts/videos/photos/features on the three major social media platforms ( Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.)

Interact with fans as a team representative and include fans pictures and videos on our social media platforms. (Permission must be obtained from parents for pictures and videos of children.)

Post updates/changes as soon as you have the information Play-by-play (Live Tweet on Twitter.) While posting game updates, use live game footage or pictures, or create Kettleers related graphics for different players, on the team when Live Tweeting about them. Other baseball Memes are acceptable at times but shouldn’t be the only thing we post during live Tweeting.

Be prepared with Kettleers related graphics of players that can be used throughout the season. Look at the Twitter pages of larger baseball schools for ideas. Ask the players early on if you can take pictures of them to use on the graphics.

Connect with the players social media accounts and tag when possible. Give them the opportunity to retweet and share our posts. It will be great publicity for them and us.

Find ways to get everyone on the team involved in our social media, not just the superstars.

Illustrate the community aspect of the team/league and use it as a marketing platform (in accordance to the team’s policies/needs.)

Represent your team with the utmost respect and care. Maintain some privacy with your own personal accounts.

Interact with the CCBL accounts. Try to make it a habit to “Like” posts made by the CCBL or other teams in the league. When the league is successful, we will be successful.
VIDEOGRAPHER
ONE INTERN POSITION. (POSITION FILLED FOR 2024)

Produce, film, and edit content for Kettleers websites and social media

Create game highlight packages, teasers, and clips to engage followers and promote team presence within community

Film team and community events (ex. 4th of July parade) and edit packages for Kettleers social media

Coordinate and plan collaborative content creation amongst members of Kettleers Media Team

Experience in sports videography preferred, but not required. Samples must be submitted at time of application

GRAPHICS
ONE INTERN POSITION. (POSITION FILLED FOR 2024)

Conceptualize and execute creative content while adhering to the Kettleers brand

Design graphics and motion graphics to be used on social media during games, including but not limited to: lineup, score updates, final score, featured player, etc

Communicate with Community Relations to design marketing content for promotions, community events, and other game day events

Create miscellaneous visual content for use on social media platforms

Collaborate with Kettleers Media Team to create a content strategy for the season

Must attend all home and away games throughout the season

SIDELINE REPORTER
ONE INTERN POSITION. (FILLED FOR 2024)

Provide on-camera reports and updates, as well as interview coaches, players, and community members throughout the duration of the 2022 season at all Kettleers games and special events

Collaborate with play-by-play broadcasters and production crew on planning and executing pre and post-game shows

Contribute on-air abilities to miscellaneous projects, including but not limited to event previews and short packages

Must attend all home and away games throughout the season

Applicants should have a proven interest in sports broadcasting and an understanding of the game of baseball, or a willingness to further their knowledge of the sport through research and dedication to their role. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are preferred
